British 'plus-size' fashion label Scarlett & Jo expects turnover of 1.5 million pounds in its first year of trading as an independent company. Additionally, the brand is planning to raise 5 million pounds to keep growing the business.

As reported by ‘This is Mone’, the plus size fashion retailer – founded and owned by ra-ra skirt designer Gifi Fields – achieved a half-year turnover of 535,000 pounds to May 2016. Fields said: 'We have made huge strides since our launch six months ago.”

Now, the fashion entrepreneur looks for further capital to help her business grow. According to the London paper, Scarlett & Jo would look into traditional financing as well as try to get 1 million pounds through crowdfunding.

It secured listings with SimplyBe, Yours, Amazon Prime and Asos Marketplace within its first six months and is poised to be launched on the Debenhams' website.
