The Cornish lifestyle and fashion brand Seasalt has reported a 52 percent sales growth for the five weeks to January 6, 2018. The company said, strong sales growth was recorded both online and in-store, with 72 percent online year on year growth, and store sales up by 40 percent. Healthy trading in the Christmas period, the company added, was not limited to the UK, with international sales up by 77 percent.

Commenting on the update, Seasalt Co-Founder and Chairman, Neil Chadwick, said in a statement: “This has been a fantastic festive season for Seasalt, with sales up across the board both in the UK and further afield. Our Christmas turnover caps a successful year, spurred on by our monthly collections.”

The company further added that the sales momentum was driven by maintaining a full-price strategy right up until Christmas, with scheduled discounting delayed until December 22, due to demand for full price products. Seasalt produces 12 collections a year, with designs rooted in its Cornish heritage.

“Our commitment to a full price strategy has been integral to our performance this season. We’ve seen that customers are loyal to our brand because of our values and avoidance of discounting culture. Our expectation is that strong sales momentum will continue into this year, as we maintain this approach,” added Malcolm Macdonald, Seasalt’s Chief Financial Officer.
