London - Topshop's Managing Director, Mary Homer, is set to leave her role after more than 30 years to lead the team at lifestyle retailer The White Company.

Homer's departure from Topshop, the fashion brand held by Sir Philip Green's Arcadia Group, is said to have been an "amicable" spilt. "It's very amicable," said Homer on her exit to the Financial Times. Homer, who first joined the team at Topshop as a merchandiser over 30 years ago, has served as the retailer's managing director for 11 years. She is set to replace The White Company's outing Chief Executive, Will Kernan, who left the company in February to oversee online sports specialist Wiggle.

In her new role at the White Company, Homer is set to oversee the international expansion of the brand's presence, as the company prepares to open its first store in New York this June. “That’s really the tip of the iceberg,” added Homer. Her impending exit from Topshop comes weeks after Sir Philip Green finally agreed to contribute a large portion of his personal wealth to BHS Pension Fund to help plug the growing deficit.

Homer's exit also follows on from a string of exits from the Arcadia Group. Topshop/Topman retail director Craig McGregor left his role to take up the same position at Specsavers earlier this year as have Yasmin Yusuf, Miss Selfridge's Creative Director and Wesley Taylor, Burton's Managing Director. Sir Green is said to have begun his search for a successor to Homer, and is said to be searching outside of Arcadia Group currently talent pool.
