Womenswear brand Modern Rarity drives weekly fashion sales at John Lewis

Total sales at John Lewis for the week to January 26, 2019, were down 3.5 percent on the same week last year, while fashion sales were up 5 percent driven by demand for the company-owned brand fashion.

The company said in a statement that sales of the company-owned brand womenswear brand Modern Rarity were up 52 percent and womenswear accessories had a particularly strong week with sales up 14.1 percent on last year.

Home sales were down 7.2 percent, while the company added that electrical and home technology sales were down 7.6 percent due to annualising strong sales from the end of Clearance last year.
