Zumiez March net sales decline 2.6 percent

Total net sales at Zumiez declined 2.6 percent for the five-week period ended April 2, 2016 to 68.8 million dollars, compared to 70.7 million dollars, for the same period last year.

The company's comparable sales decreased 7.8 percent compared to a comparable sales increase of 5.5 percent in the year ago period. The company has attributed the decline to the earlier Easter holiday compared to last year, which it feels was a detriment to March 2016 comparable sales and will be a benefit to April 2016 comparable sales.
