About the Role
In this role, you will be accountable for maintaining and executing design aesthetics through consistent sizing, fit, and constructions aligned to our customers' needs. You are a strong collaborator and influencer of cross-functional partners and global vendors, with ability to translate design concepts into specifications for costing of first proto through final fit approvals. You understand the efficiencies of leveraging fit blocks by fabrication and how to communicate fits to our customers. You will be responsible for providing direction to global sourcing teams to expand vendor capabilities and troubleshoot fit issues, as needed.What You'll Do
- An advanced understanding and practical application of garment construction, patternmaking, pattern balance analysis, pattern corrections, and grading.
- An expert in Sizing, Fit, Construction, and Quality execution with a strong understanding of the brand and customer to deliver a high level of aesthetic, cost, and functional fit.
- Track bulk fit samples and provide end of season metrics to fuel continuous improvements & efficiencies
- Effective use of PLM software or Tech Pack Management system
- Responsible for fit & construction risk management, plus training & empowering Supplier's fit technicians.
- Ensure Physical and Digital samples comply with brand standards throughout the product creation process
- Ownership and Maintenance of the block library and fit guide
- Partner with Quality Assurance team to identify and implement Gap's best practices. Look for opportunities for continuous improvement based on customer reviews, return rates, and field feedback.
- Lead fit sessions, ensuring garment preparation, capturing fit notes, and accurately recapping fit updates to global vendors.
Who You Are
- Proficiency in 2D & 3D rendering and digital pattern software with ability to accurately execute pattern revisions in digital tools.
- Soft Skills - Demonstrate ability to influence cross-functional teams to reach highly informed decisions supporting our Fit Foundation.
- Passion for staying up to date on relevant trends and competitor fit attributes by maintaining a customer-centric mindset and aspirational aesthetic.
- Be proactive and a self-starter; one who develops and utilizes tools, resources, and processes that support innovative and effective ways of working through all stages of product development.
- Possess a growth mindset, with ability to approach change with optimism and conviction.
- Organization skills - Ability to assess relatively complex situations and analyze data to recommend solutions. Ability to prioritize workload and negotiate timelines as needed.
- A natural problem-solver who inspires a solution-centric approach in his/her/their team for costing solutions and brand standards.
