Los Angeles – David Bromley’s take on fashion has as much to do with style as it does with art. In opening a retail space, he used his artistic talents to have the space double as an exhibition. The 7,000 square foot space features his artwork alongside a capsule clothing collection designed by Yule Bromley, his wife.

In Los Angeles, it’s not uncommon for designers to mix art installations in with their fashion approach. Cos recently did it with its their latest installation in downtown. Many times, art and fashion are infused together to bring a more enriching experience to the customer. Aussie artist Bromley decided to take this new cultural phenomenon of fusion and use it to his advantage.

Located at Guerilla Atelier in downtown Los Angeles, the warehouse space has multiple vibrant paintings hanging amongst its walls. The paintings are mostly done with acrylic on wood, ranging in price from 1,200 dollars to approximately 12,000. On the floor, the various sculptures by Bromley are displayed. Mostly made from bronze, the art can range up to 56,000 dollars apiece. Although Bromley has exhibited before in numerous cities (New York and San Francisco), this is his first time doing an installation this big in Los Angeles.

The pop-up also houses retail merchandise for customers. Entitled Bromley & Co., the company offers its capsule collection designed by Yule Bromley herself. The pop-up sells leather bags priced at 900 dollars, home décor items such as candles and rugs, and more from the Bromley & Co. brand. The idea ultimately is to give a little something for any audience. “I think it’s important to offer something for everybody, from [candles] to [sculptures],” Bromley told the LA Times.

Although considered a temporary space, the brand hopes to stay more as an artist-in-residency for their duration. The art and fashion space will stay open through until 2016 in May.
