The Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art partnered with Louis Vuitton to honor legendary artist John Baldessari. This past Saturday night, artists, fashion moguls, and musicians gathered for the art gala in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) hosts this fundraiser annually. The event was presented by Louis Vuitton, iconic French fashion house. At the event, Cecilia Dean, founder of Visionaire magazine, co-produced a short film tribute to the honoree of the evening, Baldessari. Dean is also known for her work with the Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy, Ed Ruscha, and others. The evening also included a musical performance by Janelle Monae. Other artists present at the gala included Shepard Fairey, Mark Bradford, Ed Ruscha, and Barbara Kruger.

The night included pieces of art and fashion up for sale to raise money for the museum. This year’s gala brought in more than 3 million dollars. Guests such as Dita von Teese and Joy Venturini Bianchi collected more of the fashion pieces, according to WWD.

The MOCA and Louis Vuitton have been known to have a long-standing relationship. Currently together, the two have created a Young Arts Program which includes an academic-year long paid internship for high school students. The program teaches teens about artwork, exhibitions, creation, and design. The two combined together for the gala to bring in a creative crowd for the fundraiser.
