Los Angeles - Sophia Amoruso, founder and creator of Nasty Gal, will talk fashion and retail this Thursday. The bus tour that sparked from Amoruso’s fashion memoir will stop in Santa Monica on October 1.

The unlikely success story of e-tailer Nasty Gal eventually lead to the success of founder Sophia Amoruso’s biographical novel. In combining her business sense with her fashion sense, the #Girlboss novel became popular among fashionistas and business retailers. The bus tour launched first with stops in New Jersey and New York. Amoruso’s third stop will be in Santa Monica this upcoming Thursday. At the event, the entrepreneur will discuss and talk of her book and how she turned her eBay account into a fashion empire. Following that event, Amoruso will have another appearance in San Diego on October 5.

Amoruso, founder and former chief executive officer of Nasty Gal, became the fastest-growing online retailer in the United States. Amoruso started Nasty Gal in 2006 as a fashion e-tailer. The brand came from Amoruso’s love of vintage clothing. Eventually, the brand evolved into its own style with curated fashions including new, old, and vintage fashion. The company started in San Francisco originally and eventually moved to downtown Los Angeles, where its first flagship launched last year. Currently, the brand has 201-500 employees and operates mostly online.
