Burberry celebrates in Los Angeles at Griffith Observatory

Last Thursday night Burberry hosted a Britain-inspired celebration and runway show at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles.

With over 700 guests, the luxury brand showcased its fall 2015 collection at the runway placed in front of the observatory. The collection originally premiered in London earlier this year. The line embraces the brand’s British heritage with a Los Angeles-inspired fusion. The designs included lace, embroidery, fringe, and of course the label’s trademark suede trench coats. The end of the show ended with an exclusive-to-L.A. eveningwear line. The eveningwear outfits emphasize a formal wear including velvet tuxedos and floral maxi dresses.

Keeping the event in line with London tradition, the First Battalion Grenadier Guards also made a presence at the event. At the end of the show, the guards made a performance amongst the runway models. Also, a wood cutout of the London sky was also set on stage for the musical performers of the night. Musical acts included Tom Odell, Benjamin Clementine, and George Ezra.

“Griffith Observatory for me is this iconic building on top of a hill where James Dean came, so the idea that we could come to this site and have a little piece of London here was a dream -- and overlooking the whole of Los Angeles,” Christopher Bailey, chief executive officer of Burbbery, told LA Times. The iconic venue turned into a celebration with champagne for its guests after the runway show had finished.

The entire collection will be available on Friday at the Burberry flagship at 201 North Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.
