Planet Blue, Los Angeles-based retailer, plans to expand to the East Coast this year. Announced through its social media pages, the local brand plans to establish a pop-up shop in the East Hamptons that will remain open through the summer.

This is the brand’s first time expanding to the East Coast. Planet Blue is known for its contemporary, chic clothing which emphasizes a strong SoCal vibe. Bringing it’s lax high-end clothing to the East Hamptons is something that the brand has kept in mind for a while. “We always had the Hamptons on our radar,” David Lindell, vice president of the brand, told WWD.

The extension brings a piece of Santa Monica lifestyle and culture to New York. Although renown for it’s SoCal style, the pop-up will have selective clothing specifically chosen by creative director and founder Ling-Su Chinn. Lindell told WWD that Chinn went through the collection herself to hand-choose pieces that would best fit the East Hampton style.

The store will be called PB Guest House and encompass a total of 2,800 square feet. The pop-up opened on Thursday, May 21. The boutique will offer some of Planet Blue’s regular brands including Blue Life, their in-house brand.

The next step for Planet Blue includes a bricks-and-mortar store opening in Dallas set for July. Planet Blue also plans to open a store in Atlanta in August.
