Los Angeles - Graffiti artist Joseph Tierney, more commonly known as Rime, filed a lawsuit against Moschino’s creative director Jeremy Scott earlier last year. After months of enduring this legal battle, the copyright issue has been finally settled.

The suit was originally filed in August 2015. Tierney filed a seven-claim lawsuit against Scott due to the appropriate of his name and copyright infringement. These were allegations that questioned Moschino’s fashion designs, including a dress that Katy Perry wore for the Met Gala. The issue has been going on for almost an entire year now. According to WWD, the case between both Scott and Tierney has been settled. “I am glad the case is settled,” Tierney told the publication. “Modern graffiti is a form of art that deserves the same respect and legal protection that other forms of expression are entitled to,” he stated. Although the case is settled, the financial agreements between the two parties have not yet been disclosed to the public.

Although the case has been settled, Moschino has filed a response to the U.S. District Court. Moschino claims in its response that the fashion house and Rime have not agreed on all terms yet. Due to the response to the court, it seems that Tierney and Scott still have some legal disputes to figure out.
