The Los Angeles Reformation brand has gained recognition for its popularity and success. The eco-friendly label was founded in 2008 by Yael Aflalo.

The lifestyle brand brings sustainable and local manufacturing to the fashion world. Aflalo started her first fashion line, Ya-Ya, in 1999. Discovering that most companies associated with the fashion industry waste about 80 percent of their fabric/materials, Aflalo launched the brand with the environment in mind.

The brand sources all pieces from repurposed vintage clothing, rescued deadstock fabrics, and eco-friendly materials. Using their L.A.-based factory, the clothes ensure quality and environmentally conscious sustainability. Reformation hopes to combat and change the fact that the retail industry is the second largest polluter in the world.

Reformation created America’s first sustainable sewing factory in downtown L.A. Powered by renewable energy, every aspect of the factory houses including design, manufacturing, and photography all reflect their green philosophy.

Reformation’s e-launch in 2013 resulted in successful profits

Although the label has been around since 2008, it didn’t gain much acknowledgment until recent years. It wasn’t until 2013 that Aflalo launched an e-commerce site in order to help facilitate the brand.

The website gained customers by strategically making the website appeal. With paid acquisition, email, and banners, the e-shop capitalized on what other companies lacked. The e-commerce changed the entire business, paving the way for success. With the website profits and bricks-and-mortar stores combined, Reformation generated over 25 million in revenue after the e-launch.

In 2014, the e-commerce site was said to have about 200,000 monthly visitors. The brand invests in its models, stylists, photographers, and images in order to efficiently produce a prosperous website.

Due to their eco-friendly work ambiance and successful e-shop, the brand has become one of L.A.’s more supported local businesses.
