Dutch menswear brand MR Marvis has entered a long-term partnership with WWF-NL, the Dutch arm of the World Wide Fund for Nature, to support the conservation of snow leopards in Mongolia. The B Corp-certified brand is opening the partnership with a financial contribution of 100,000 euros in 2026, aimed at protecting the roughly 1,000 snow leopards left in the wild and restoring the ecosystems they depend on.

The partnership is centred on Mongolia, which produces an estimated 25 to 40 percent of the world's cashmere. Rising global demand for the fibre has expanded goat herds in the country, adding pressure to grasslands and water sources already strained by climate change, drought and land degradation. As herders move further into snow leopard territory in search of grazing land, habitat loss and conflict between herding communities and wildlife have increased. WWF's programme works with local herders to ease these pressures, including by restoring water sources and grasslands, monitoring snow leopard populations, reintroducing traditional livestock guardian dogs and mitigating conflicts between people and wildlife.

Beyond the financial contribution, MR Marvis will work with WWF-NL to assess nature-related risks across its supply chain, using the organisation's biodiversity and water risk assessment tools.

"This partnership demonstrates how nature conservation, supply chain transparency and consumer awareness can go hand in hand," said Fieke Princee, senior manager corporate partnerships at WWF-NL. "We are proud to achieve this together with MR Marvis."

Sophie Brada, sustainability lead at MR Marvis, said understanding the origin of materials is a first step toward more responsible sourcing. "Partnering with WWF-NL allows us to combine meaningful action on the ground in Mongolia with powerful storytelling, while pushing us to continuously examine and reduce our own footprint across our value chain," she said.

To mark the partnership, MR Marvis has designed a limited-edition scarf made from 40 percent wool, 40 percent recycled wool and 20 percent recycled cashmere, using recycled rather than virgin cashmere. The scarf goes on sale on October 7, exclusively on mrmarvis.com and in select MR Marvis flagship stores.
