  • Paris/Milan, September 2024 - This September, the fashion world looked forward to two outstanding events that impressively demonstrated the creativity and innovative power of Chinese designers and companies. From September 8 to 10, 2024, the second presentation of Chinese designers took place at the renowned Who's Next trade fair in Paris, followed by the successful premiere of Chinese companies at the Milan trade fair TheOne Milano from September 14 to 17, 2024.

    CHIC Paris with Fashion China at Who's Next from 09/8-10, 2024

    From September 8-10, 16 renowned Chinese designers presented their latest collections to an international audience in the Fashion China Pavilion under the umbrella of the CHIC International Fashion Fair. These included brands such as LANCY, VAN SUNSUN, KEYONE, TYPETAIL, TRUI BERRA, CHICHY, ROBIN HOOD, VERMO, DAO XU, COME&GO, LUCRE and ALFRONCE.

    The variety and quality of the labels presented were impressive, the Chinese labels not only convinced with their unique style, but also with innovative materials and sustainable production methods. The response from visitors was overwhelming and many international buyers expressed their interest in the collections, which are characterized by creativity and craftsmanship. The exclusivity of the designer labels was underlined by the open stand design in the trend color peach, which was specially created for the Who's Next presentation. Centrally located in Hall 7 in the Port de Versailles, the organizers of the Fashion China Pavilion and brands welcomed buyers from all over the world. In addition to numerous cooperation discussions, the labels welcomed feedback from customers on adapting to local market conditions, proper brand positioning, careful collection selections and pricing strategies. TRUI BERRA, the exclusive label of the well-known designer William Zhang, received orders for over 1000 items from the collection. Buyers were particularly enthusiastic about the Chinese style elements in the designer collections.

    The cooperation between Who's Next and CHIC is seen as a bridge between the French and Chinese fashion worlds, as both trade fair organizers emphasize, and takes on a special significance against the backdrop of this year's 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. Frédéric Maus, CEO Who's Next, confirms that the trade fair is not only a business platform for Chinese high-end fashion, but also an important contribution to cultural fashion exchange. Furthermore, cooperation with the French Fashion and Apparel Industry Union (UFIMH) is planned with CHIC Shanghai to promote the exchange of fashion culture between the two countries and to give new impetus and vitality to the innovative development of the global fashion industry.

    The Paris appearance of the Chinese designer brands concluded with the reception at the BALCONY PARIS showroom at Rue Beaumarchais in Marais district on September 11. Here too, the labels welcomed numerous international buyers under the umbrella of CHIC SHOWROOMS PARIS.

    MODA CHINA at TheONE Milano from 09/14 to 17, 2024

    At the same time, from September 14 to 17, the Milan trade fair TheOne Milano celebrated the premiere of Chinese companies that attracted the attention of the fashion world with their high-quality products and fresh designs. The China National Garment Association brought 25 leading companies of exclusive menswear, womenswear and casualwear to Milan. The fair provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the strength and potential of the Chinese fashion industry. The participating companies demonstrated their high creativity and ability to compete with established international fashion brands. The quality of the products, coupled with a clear understanding of current fashion trends, made Chinese brands a sought-after topic among trade visitors. The focus of the participants was on exploring the market and launching new products. In addition to expanding their networks, the Chinese brands had to face competition from European brands. The numerous orders received, for example from Dingding Cap, Industries, which sold 3,000 baseball caps to a Turkish customer with over 200 stores, also showed a pleasing result.

    Both events underline the growing importance of Chinese designers and companies on the global fashion stage. They show that the Chinese fashion industry is not only an important player, but also a source of inspiration and innovation. The combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern design opens-up new perspectives and opportunities for the future of fashion. The next international participation of Chinese designers is planned for Pitti Uomo from January 14 to 17, 2025 in Florence.
