Disney, The North Face, and Vans are amongst the main buyers at Colombiamoda+Colombiatex 2022

From July 26th to 28th, 340 international buyers from 24 countries, invited by ProColombia, will be doing business with Colombian companies, at the event organized by Inexmoda in Plaza Mayor, Medellin. Ecuador, The United States, Puerto Rico, and Mexico are the countries with the most companies representing them.

Casual and formal wear, full package production, jeans, underwear, swimwear, gym wear, and girdles are some of the pieces that over 340 international buyers from 24 countries, invited by ProColombia, to Colombiamoda+Colombiatex 2022, organized by Inexmoda, July 26 th to 28 th , at Plaza Mayor, Medellin.

The highlights of the international representation include some American companies like Disney, who comes looking for uniforms, especially leather belts, shoes, and party and theater clothes; The North Face, with an interest in the full package of jackets, hoodies, and outdoor shirts, and Vans, who is looking for full package production in shirts and pants.

The countries with the largest number of international buyers are Ecuador (82), The United States (44), Puerto Rico (35), and Mexico (32). These 4 countries represent over 50 percent of all international buyers.

The presence of buyers from Spain, UAE, and Singapore also stands out. “Fashion exports have had a good year, thanks to their quality, design, flexible volumes for delivery, sustainability, and we hope that the commercial activities of our great ally Inexmoda can maximize even more our international sales”, said Flavia Santoro, president of ProColombia.

It is worth noting that, between January and May 2022, fashion exports reached USD 432.7 million, an increase of 25 per cent from the same period in 2021.

During these months, The United States, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Costa Rica, Chile, and Brazil, were the biggest buyers.

While Antioquia, Bogota, Valle del Cauca, Atlántico, Cundinamarca, Santander, and Risaralda were the most exporting departments.

The most requested garments by international buyers were textiles and weaves, girdles, shapewear, jeans, underwear and pajamas, raw and prepared leather, t-shirts, leather goods, domestic linens, and yarn-based products.
