Bloomsbury Publishers have released the second edition of Fashion Law, the first ever guide for designers,

fashion executives and lawmakers alike. The expanded second edition now includes new chapters on international fashion law, celebrity and model endorsements/agreements and marketing, advertising and promotion.

Released in 2010, the first edition of Fashion Law pioneered a textbook covering various legal areas of fashion. It explores such issues such as intellectual property law, copyright, patent, trademark and trade dress protection; licensing agreements, selling and marketing fashion goods domestically and abroad; and laws affecting treatment of employees, leasing of retail property and international trade. Each topic within the book features case studies, practice tips, form agreements and sample clauses.

The book also addresses newsworthy fashion legal issues such as counterfeiting, the protection of fashion designs globally and import/customs issues. It serves as an instructional tool as well, providing legal advice on how to start a business, launch a line and develop new businesses in international markets.

"The first edition of this 'how-to' book was a hit and it was time for an update with the global evolution of fashion law and cases like the Louboutin/ Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci/Guess," said Barbara Kolsun, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Stuart Weitzman LLC.
