A Fish Named Fred: Fresh & crisp with a playful twist. A light-hearted name for an unusual collection.

A compact shirt range which stands out through the use of luxurious materials, refined details and contrasting stitching and linings. The use of different buttons and concealed prints produces surprising effects. This collection of crisp shirts can best be described as fresh, young and colourful.

The name: A Fish Named Fred. The philosophy: Be it shark, mackerel, herring or goldfish... any fish can be Fred. Just as every man can show his independence and playfulness by wearing... A Fish Named Fred. This first collection features stripes, checks, and solid colours. Each design includes fresh and surprising details. For example, an orange pennant attached to the shoulder by a snap fastener. Or a print on the lining of the back panel that you only notice the third time you put the shirt on, an original camouflage denim with an unexpected floral lining, all-over prints, flowers, crazy multicolour stripes: A Fish Named Fred has them all. In addition to the shirts, the 2012 High Summer collection will also include tees and polo shirts. And of course they all come with the playful A Fish Named Fred touch.

A Fish Named Fred made it's first splash at the Modefabriek Trade Show in Amsterdam JUly 2011 with its playful booth. Shirts were displayed dripping wet, hanging from fishing rods that protrude from the walls of the booth, suspended above a basin filled with live fish. The name of the line of shirts comes from a children’s book that was published internationally but proved especially popular in Japan. And it is Japan that Transit Textiles evokes in the details of its packaging and artwork.
