Andy Mooney named Quiksilver CEO

American surf brand Quiksilver has announced that Andy Mooney will take over

as chief executive officer, replacing the brand’s co-founder Robert McKnight.

Mooney who was served as Disney's chairman of consumer products, was responsible for international licensing, publishing and retail businesses, and has been credited with packaging characters from the company's movies together under the brand Disney Princess.

McKnight will step down as CEO this month after more than two decades in the role, to take up his new position as executive chairman of the board of directors. Both changes will be effective from January 11.

Founded in 1976, Quiksilver, which also includes brands Roxy and DC, is present in more than 90 countries, and has more than 600 stores worldwide.
