Catherine Monier, formerly the European president and retail head at Yves Saint Laurent, has taken a job

at Apple to work with former Yves Saint Laurent CEO Paul Deneve, who is currently head of special projects.

Monier, who left the Kering-owned luxury house in order to “pursue other projects” earlier this summer, is reportedly been working with Deneve’s team on new strategies for Apple’s official retail stores to make them more capable of selling and marketing fashion and wearable goods, according to 9to5Mac.

Apple hasn’t confirmed Monier’s appointment but it is thought that she was lured to the position by Deneve ahead of Apple launching its own fashion and fitness-oriented wearable band later this year.

Apple has been poaching fashion executives for the past few years, Deneve has been with the technology giant since last year, while former Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts was named Apple’s senior vice president of retail and online stores earlier this year, and most recently former social media chief for both Nike and Burberry, Musa Tariq was hired to head up Apple's digital marketing.
