Online fashion retailer Asos has announced that its

international director Jon Kamaluddin is to stand down from his role after nine years.

Kamaluddin, who joined Asos in 2004, will be stepping down from the Board in October this year; however he will remain with the e-tailer until December to ensure a “smooth handover”. The search for his successor is currently underway.

Since Kamaluddin moved up to international director in 2009, Asos has seen its overseas sales grow to 59 percent of its overall sales, and for the three months to the end of February sales rose 45 percent to 76.7 million pounds for the quarter helped by the launch of dedicated websites in France and Germany.

Nick Robertson, Asos chief executive officer said: "Jon has played a significant role in the development of Asos over the last nine years, formerly as Finance Director and latterly as International Director. Personally and on behalf of all of us at ASOS I want to thank him for his outstanding contribution to our success and wish him well in the future."
