Capsule, the international trade show for premium brands and directional designers, has cancelled its Berlin

edition in January due to scheduling conflicts with Berlin’s Fashion Week and New York Men’s Market.

Capsule co-founder Deirdre Maloney said: “We remain committed to providing the best platform for our exhibitors to bring their collections to market. After much internal discussion and surveying of Capsule brands, we have decided the best way to reach that goal is to move forward with the Capsule New York Men’s show in January and take the season off in Berlin.

“The international market week schedule in the winter is so tight that any changes to the calendar force everyone to make tough decisions.”

The Berlin edition has been on the schedule since its debut in July 2011 and the recent SS15 show featured brands including Lazy Oaf, Zatchels, Mehle, and Lightning Bolt. It is expected that the show will return to the German capital for summer 2015.

Capsule Paris Men’s, Capsule Las Vegas and Capsule Women’s in Paris and New York will continue to be held for the autumn/winter 2015 season, the show confirmed. It added that specific dates and locations for all AW15 shows would be released in September after the current season concludes.

The move to cancel its Berlin edition follows Bread & Butter’s announcement that it would be moving its January show from Berlin to Barcelona next year, with its Spanish edition running from January 8 to 10 at the Fira de Barcelona grounds.
