Chris Westen, who was the former sourcing manager at

O’Neill, has opened a company that specializes in developing and producing industrial snow and mountain gear and garments. The company will be based and run out of the snow product development office in Hong Kong, with production facilities dotted throughout South East Asia. In order to start his new company, Westen decided to merge his previous work experience with his inside knowledge of the industry and his dedication to snowboarding and free skiing. The main business of the company will be developing rural country products, with heavy emphasis on creating sustainable, innovative and unique snow products.

Westen started working for O’Neill in 1999. Then 8 years later, after working at the European Headquarters, he moved to Hong Kong to help establish the O’Neill Hong Kong Buying Office. Since then, the O’Neill HK office has become an integrated component for the production of O’Neill global products. In his previous position at O’Neill, Westen helped design some of highest quality outerwear garments for the brands signature lines. ‘Climb, Ride, Live,’ is West-House business slogan and one that Westen will undoubtedly live up to with his new product line.
