To better cope with the upcoming holiday

season, Gap and Banana Republic have launched a new shopping offer which allows its online and mobile shoppers the option to 'Reserve in Store.'

The initiative was rolled out to over all Banana Republic locations across the US and more than 200 Gap stores after a successfully pilot in San Francisco and Chicago. This is the latest addition to Gap Inc. on-going multi-channel retail strategy which was primarily initiated to seamless blend customers shopping experience between all channels.

Tom Sands, executive vice president at Gap North America said “With Reserve in Store, our stores are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We're focused on delivering an incredible store experience and making it even more convenient for our customers to shop with us, however and whenever they want.” 'Reserve in Store' was created to allow its customers the luxury of shopping online or via a mobile device and reserving their favorite items to try on and pick up in store. Customers can reserve up to five items per day and within an hour will receive a confirmation message that their items are on hold, with pick up instructions. Selected items will be reserved in the chosen store until the end of the next business day.

Julia Rose, executive vice president at Banana Republic North America added, “We are thrilled to launch this service to our full U.S. fleet of more than 400 stores during the busy holiday season so that we can help make shopping with us even more convenient.”

Gap also offers its online customers the choice to 'Ship from Store,' which uses Gap Inc. inventory search engine and integrates its online demand with its in-store inventory, as well as a 'Find in Store' option that lets customers see which is the nearest store which stocks their desired item.
