Italian fashion house Gucci has announced a five-year

scholarship initiative to support fashion students to develop their talent and career in Korea in partnership with the Korea Student Aid Foundation.

The Gucci Scholarship Program was announced by Creative Director Frida Giannini in front of 450 university students at Garam Hall in Hongik University, South Korea, for a question-and-answer session titled, ‘In Conversation with Frida Giannini'.

Gucci will award bursary aid for five students for a five-year period, as well as providing them with the opportunity to visit its leather goods factory in Florence and fashion show in Milan. Details on how to apply will be announced in September, with the first year 2013 beneficiaries announced in December.

Giannini said: “Gucci is pleased to partner with KOSAF, which has operated many programs that support students pursuing higher education regardless of their financial means. I hope that through this new partnership between Gucci and KOSAF will open a pathway for students to achieve their goals and dreams.”
