Harrods store image director Mark Briggs is to follow former chief merchant Marigay

McKee to Saks Fifth Avenue, after being appointed the US department store’s chief marketing officer.

Briggs, who has been with the luxury London store for nearly 20 years, will be responsible for overseeing all “marketing, creative and visual merchandising” for Saks Fifth Avenue. The role is a newly created position, replacing Denise Incandela, former CMO, and Terron Schaefer, former chief creative officer, with additional responsibilities.

"Mark brings a wealth of experience in luxury brand management with a proven track record of creating retail magic around heritage brands. His passion for retail theatre and essential understanding of the customer will be integral to our success," said McKee. "I am thrilled to welcome Mark to the Saks team, where he will play a key role on the executive committee."

His move comes just weeks before former Harrods chief merchant McKee joins the American chain as President in January. McKee left Harrods in November after 15 years with the luxury department store. Briggs will join the US store in March and will report to McKee.
