i-D 30th birthday issue

Founded by form Vogue art director Terry Jones in 1980, i-D magazine is an institution for the

fashion industry. On 12th August we’ll see the release of the birthday issue featuring Kate Moss, Lady Gaga and Naomi Campbell on different covers.

Nick Knight created the birthday issue with 200 portraits that SHOWstudio made in Somerset House, formerly the home of British passports. For the 5th birthday of i-D, Nick Knight captured 100 portraits in The GrownUp Issue. The three issues will be released on different dates: Then on 12th August, Now on 23rd September, and Next on 11th November.

i-D outlived the turmoil, but was required to scale its publications back from twelve to six times a year. As of today, debuty editor Holly Shackleton will replace editor Ben Reardon.
