The British Fashion Council and the British Council’s

initiative the International Fashion Showcase, which launched in February 2012, will be returning to take over London Fashion Week.

The showcase will display collections from more than 110 emerging designers and will be featured in 27 embassies across London, offering the public, together with international press and buyers the opportunity to see up-and-coming designers.

Participating countries are: Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark, Estonia, Jamaica, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Panama, Philippines, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay and Vietnam.

Each country has been asked to present a showcase of emerging designers whom they feel most represents the future of fashion in their region, and a voting committee chaired by BFC ambassador for emerging talent, Sarah Mower will award the winning country at the official BFC catwalk venue in Somerset House.

Last year’s inaugural International Fashion Showcase took place in embassies and cultural institutes London-wide and was developed to celebrate the year of the Olympics and Paralympics, as part of the Fashion 2012 cultural programme. Last year’s winning country was Korea.
