J.Crew has European expansion plans

American collegiate fashion brand J.Crew is looking at Europe for expansion.

The company, which opened its first store outside of the US in London last year, now operates three stores in England, with France being next on its list.

The retailer plans to target capital cities worldwide to boost brand awareness, chief executive Millard Drexler told Bloomberg.

“We are looking where we see the right environment, like Paris is obviously a great city to do business in,” Drexler said ahead of the opening of its first two Asia locations in Hong Kong.

“The ambition is to go slow and do it well with great integrity, and not do it quickly and lose the quality control that’s critically important to us,” he said.
