Formerly disgraced Dior designer, John Galliano, is rumored to staged his big

fashion comeback with Parisian-based fashion house Maison Martin Margiela.

According media reports from this morning, Galliano is currently in talks with the fashion house to develop a haute couture line for Margiela. A unnamed source told Page Six: “Galliano has been talking to Margiela to take the brand into haute couture. He has already hired five or six staff members for his atelier in Paris.”

The designer's representative noted that Galliano was having a number of discussions with brands, but added that there was no official deal signed with Margiela, or any other fashion labels. Renzo Rosso, president of OTB, the parent company of Diesel which acquired Maison Martin Margiela in 2002 and majority shareholder of the fashion house, denied rumors of signing a deal with Galliano.

However he added, “Who wouldn't like to work with him? If he ever got back his name, I would be the first to produce his collections.” In 2011 Galliano was publicly disgraced for making anti-Semitic remarks in a cafe in Paris, which ultimately led to his dismissal from Christian Dior.

Two years later he undertook a three-week residency at Oscar de la Renta's studio in New York, working on his AW 13 collection, which was well received by the industry and a move that some took as a sign he was groomed as become the de la Renta's successor as creative director.

However, months later news emerged that Galliano would not be making his fashion comeback at the helm of Oscar de la Renta after the two parties failed to come to terms concerning salary and supporting staff. Earlier this summer, during an interview with French newspaper Le Point, Galliano revealed that his best work had yet to come.

“The new Galliano will be even bigger and better. I love working, it's my therapy. I can draw until four in the morning every night and not feel tired… I've come face to face with my demons, medicine and alcohol. I have rebuilt myself again,” he explained. Now the question remains where Galliano will showcase his newly discovered self.
