British designer J.W. Anderson is to design a capsule collection for Versace’s sister line Versus,

after being named the first collaborator of the brand’s strategic repositioning, which was announced earlier this month.

The young designer who started his eponymous label in 2008, has previously collaborated with highstreet retailer Topshop, and has received praise for both his men’s and womenswear collections, and just this week the designer won the Emerging Talent Award for Ready-to-Wear at the British Fashion Awards.

The collection, which will be launched with a presentation-event planned for March/April 2013 in New York, includes both women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories, and will be sold online at www.versus.it and within top department and specialty stores worldwide.

“I keep a close eye on young talent, and have been impressed by Jonathan’s work over the last couple of years,” said Donatella Versace. “Versus is all about fun, change, and digital. I can’t wait to present this collaboration!”
