British footwear giant Kurt Geiger is to launch a wholesale business in the USA, starting with

the renowned department store group Nordstrom.

Kurt Geiger, who in the UK supplies department stores such as Harrods and Selfridges, has struck a deal to begin wholesaling its collection across the Atlantic.

Kurt Geiger currently operates three boutiques in the USA, including New York on the East coast and San Francisco on the West. The company aims to achieve 100 million dollars in US sales over the next three years, for which the deal with Nordstrom was a “significant step” in its expansion strategy.

The Kurt Geiger London, KG Kurt Geiger and Carvela labels will be sold in 10-20 Nordstrom stores from next season as well as online via Nordstrom.com, reports Drapers.

In June 2011, Kurt Geiger was sold by private equity backer Graphite Capital to US retail giant Jones Group for 215 million pounds.

At the time, chief executive Neil Clifford said the move would give Kurt Geiger a foothold in the US market.
