Heritage fashion label Lyle & Scott has appointed Philip Oldham as its new chief
executive officer following a global social media campaign in September after the departure of managing director Derrick Campbell.The fashion brand in partnership with recruitment firm Beringer Tame took to Twitter to recruit the CEO with the tweet: “Wanted: #CEO for our iconic British fashion brand. £250k basic salary. Corporate Journeymen need not apply”, with a link to a dedicated website featuring a job advert.
Oldham, who is new to the fashion industry, with a background in the FMCG and pharmaceutical sector, secured the role after a submitting a video application that “engaged” owner Sue Watson.
Watson said: “I was looking for someone who could bring a great leadership style to Lyle & Scott and I believe that I have found that person in Philip.
“I was engaged from the first moment I watched his video application and am looking forward to seeing the team deliver great things under his leadership.”
Oldham joins from AstraZeneca, where he led the manufacturing, marketing and sales teams. Prior to that he worked at personal hygiene products manufacturer Kimberly-Clark.
