Vittorio Missoni, CEO of luxury Italian brand Missoni, was reported missing on Friday after his plane

disappeared off the coast of Venezuela.

Travelling with his wife, two friends and two crew, the small BN-2 Islander aircraft, reportedly disappeared off radar after taking off from the resort of Los Roques to Venezuelan capital Caracas.

A spokeswoman for Missoni said: “The Missoni family has been informed by the Venezuelan consulate that Vittorio Missoni and his wife are missing, but we don’t know any more.”

Vittorio Missoni is the oldest son of the founders, he co-owns the fashion house famous for its zigzag patterns, bold strips and colourful designs with his sisters Luca and Angela, who handle the technical and design sides of the label.
