Days after Moynat, one of the oldest trunk makers in France, opened its first store

outside Paris in London, Mayfair came news of a pop-up store opening in the US.

Making its first move into the US market, Moynat is set to open a pop-up store in New York's Dover Street Market. The French luxury label will be joining the likes of J.W Anderson, Simone Rocha, Prada, Louis Vuitton and more in the fashion retail concept store founded by Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo.

"It's unexpected," commented Guillaume Davin, CEO at Moynat to WWD. "It's taking Moynat around the world and telling the story." The leather goods luxury label will open its pop-up store, which was designed by architect Gwenael Nicolas who previously created the interior for the stores in London and Paris, on Dover Street's ground floor.

The pop-up store is set to include a mural showcasing Moynat's original store on the Place du Théâtre Français in Paris as well as other vintage pieces to showcase the history of the luxury label.

Adrian Joffe, Dover's Street CEO, said: "We love their bags. They're very special and very beautiful," when asked about what initiated the partnership between Moynat and Dover Street Markert. "I asked if we could launch the brand in America."

The Moynat pop-up store will be opened from April 24 for a two-month period and offer a series of selected bags, ranging from the Petite Quattro for 2,795 dollars to the Réjane Bag for 5,590 dollars.
