Before womenswear brands take over New York for fashion week a new day dedicated to menswear is launching,

New York Fashion Week's Men's Day (NYMD) on February 5.

The inaugural show will kick off one-day prior to NYFW and will feature six brands presenting simultaneously for a two-hour block at Industria Studios.

The six brands taking part in the bi-annual showcase will be Bespoken, Carlos Campos, David Hart, Lucio Castro, Bosideng and Ernest Alexander, who will all get their own, fully styled studio space to present their collections.

“We are hoping to bring a new lens to the American menswear market," explained Erin Hawker, owner of Agentry PR, producers of the showcase. "By synching emerging talent together and presenting it in a centralised location, we are allowing for maximum access and exposure by the media and retail buying teams. It’s win-win for everyone involved."

Additionally, the debut NYMD is being sponsored by car giant Cadillac and three of the designers have produced customised wrap for the new Cadillac ELR, using their autumn/winter 2014 collections as inspiration.
