Opening Ceremony comes to London

Covent Garden was buzzing yesterday as leading New York

 retailer and independent design label, Opening Ceremony, opened their first UK store.

Design duo, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, were adamant that their muses arent just limited to favourite fashionistas like Alexa Chung, but the average fashion savvy girl on the street; "street style is incredible here. It's quite inspirational."

The pair last night opened their label's debut London store - a pop-up shop based in the middle of Covent Garden, not far from the Burberry Brit store, or Chanel's new beauty outlet - that opens on Tuesday July 24. The boutique acts as a precursor to the brand's permanent London residence, which will open in three months' time.

"Opening Ceremony celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and we've wanted to open in Europe for such a long time, so it felt like the right way to celebrate," Leon said. "We got so excited when we found this space and with the London Olympics Opening Ceremony happening next week, really the timing couldn't be better."
