Paco Rabanne’s artistic director of womenswear,

Lydia Maurer, has left the brand. Maurer took up the position as head of the in-house design team last year, after being promoted from her role as studio design director, and has been responsible for the Paris-based fashion houses ongoing relaunch.

According to a spokesman for Paco Rabanne, Maurer brought a “new spirit of femininity and modernity” to its ready-to-wear collection, adding that her work on the Spring/Summer 2013 and Autumn/Winter 2013 shows contributed to “raising the profile of the house on the international fashion stage”.

Maurer took over the head designer role after Indian designer Manish Arora left the fashion house by a “mutual agreement” after just two seasons.

The short statement didn’t name Maurer’s successor or confirm the designer’s next move.
