Luxury fashion label Ports 1961 has tapped Milan Vukmirovic as its new creative director

for menswear, as the brand looks to develop its men’s division.

The newly created menswear director role marks a new direction for the brand, as the label’s creative director Fiona Cibani was previously in charge of both the womenswear and menswear categories, however Vukmirovic will now oversee all menswear collections, with his first being unveiled for autumn/winter 2015.

Commenting on the appointment, Ports 1961 CEO Salem Cibani, said: "Fiona and I are thrilled to have Milan on board, as his menswear perspective perfectly matches the brand's urban contemporary style."

Cibani added that Vukmirovic would continue to be based in Miami and travel to Milan, where Ports 1961 is headquartered, while stating that he would be “exclusively dedicated to Ports”.

Ports 1961 held its first menswear catwalk show during Milan’s men’s fashion week in January after several seasons of presentations and the appointment of Vukmirovic is part of the brands strategy to continue building on its menswear offering.

Vukmirovic has held various design roles for brands including Jil Sander, Chevignon, Gucci and Trussardi, as well as numerous retail positions including art director and buyer at Colette in Paris and co-founding The Webster concept store in Miami.
