Spanx appoints new CEO to lead growth

Spanx, the slimming apparel phenomenon, has named former Nike vice president Jan Singer as its new CEO.

Singer will report directly to Spanx founder Sara Blakely, who has built the business into a 400 million dollar empire.

Singer stated: “Spanx has just scratched the surface. It’s super, superearly for me to say what the opportunities are. They’ve been pretty aggressive in their growth. I can’t see that slowing down,”

Blakely stated: "Jan’s role in helping to lead and innovate at premium, global brands across the apparel, footwear and beauty industries, combined with her deep understanding of the consumer, make her the perfect fit for Spanx. I’m confident that she will transition from the locker room to the fitting room seamlessly."

Spanx sells over 200 products, including slimming apparel, swimwear, activewear and men's undershirts.
