Tommy Hilfiger names first European COO

American label Tommy Hilfiger, which is owned by PVH,

has appointed Gernot Lenz to the newly-created role of chief operating officer for Europe.

Lenz, who has worked at Tommy Hilfiger in Amsterdam since 2007, has held various roles at the group including business development manager, director corporate planning and vice president of group strategic planning.

In April 2010 he took on the position of senior vice president of operations and business development, and became executive vice president three years later. In his new capacity, Lenz will continue to report directly to Tommy Hilfiger Europe’s chief executive Daniel Grieder.

“We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Gernot Lenz in this new position,” said Grieder. “I’m always excited to see talent grow within our organization, and I am confident that he will continue to successfully embrace all the fantastic opportunities that lay ahead for our company.”
