Tory Burch and Fitbit launch accessories line

American designer Tory Burch has teamed up with wearable technology firm Fitbit to create a collection of fashionable accessories for its wireless activity

trackers, Fitbit Flex.

The collection comprises of a series accessories including a pendant necklace, bracelets and wristbands based on Tory Burch signature designs designed to house the Fitbit fitness trackers.

“Wearable technology is an exciting new category, and we’re [pleased] to be partnering with Fitbit to offer a unique collection of accessories that transform the fitness tracker into a stylish piece of jewelry that is versatile enough to go from day to evening,” said Burch to WWD.

“We feel Tory Burch is the quintessential lifestyle brand. Everybody loves her chic accessories,” added James Park, chief executive officer and co-founder of Fitbit. “The Tory Burch for Fitbit collection will be around for a while. We see this as a long-term strategic partnership. This partnership is the first between a fashion brand and a leading fitness-technology company, and that’s what makes it notable.”

The Fitbit Flex is designed to monitor and track its wearers physical statistics such as how many steps they have taken, calories burnt and distance traveled as well their sleep quality and how active they are. The accessories designed by Tory Burch will be sold separately from the Fitbit Flex, which retails for 99.99 dollars or 79.99 pounds.

Prices for the different accessories are set to range between 38 dollars (22 pounds) for a silicone print bracelet to 195 dollars (113 pounds) for a brass metal hinged bracelet. The Tory Burch for Fitbit collection is currently available for pre-order online at Fitbit.com and Tory Burch.com as well as selected Tory Burch stores, and produce shipment is slated for August.
