Victorinox, the inventor of the original Swiss Army Knives, has named Jason Gallen as president of its Global Fashion Division.

Gallen, who has worked for the company since 2010, has been acting as interim leader of the division at the Swiss brand, and it was decided that he should replace Joachim Beer who left Victorinox at the end of 2013.

In his new role, Gallen will continue to work closely with artistic director Christopher Raeburn, where they will both tackle the development of the seasonal collections and the restructuring distribution. Prior to joining Victorinox, Gallen held various positions at Original Penguin, Tommy Hilfiger and Gap Inc.

As part of the strategic development of the fashion division, Victorinox has also named Tom Hurler as the new sales director Central Europe with immediate effect. He has been at Victorinox since 2012 and was previously in charge of the markets in Switzerland, Austria, Southern and Eastern Europe. Hurler will now also be taking on the responsibilities of Jens Wolf who has left the company. Simon Walker will continue as sales director for the UK and both will report to Gallen directly.
