ABOUT THE ROLE:
The CMF (Color/Material/Finish) Designer will work within the design team for the Women’s and Men’s Go Run division. The primary role of the CMF Designer will be to envision, create and develop rich, seasonal product collections that draw inspiration from creative expressions, consumer lifestyles, athletic pursuits and fashion-forward thinking. They will work across multiple product categories and on multi-season projects to deliver brand-relevant products focusing on both the art and science of color and material design from concept to production. Success in this role requires the ability to balance creativity with practical application, while staying current with industry trends and innovations in materials and finishes.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Create best-in-class seasonal storytelling, color direction and material development aligned with marketplace trends, consumer target, and seasonal business strategy.
- Collaborates daily with a team of multi-disciplinary footwear designer, product manager, and material developer.
- Delivers on-time breakthrough design solutions aligned with Skecher’s multi-season design and go to market dates and gates.
- Partner with product line management and product development in the creation of line plans, briefs and final product solutions aligned with business goals, consumer needs, and brand stories.
- Proficient in the creation of color and material cads to clearly communicate with Asia partners.
- Study and research current and future trends, maintain expert knowledge in global design trends market competition, and retail landscape.
- Periodic travel to Asia to for product development.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Strong knowledge and passion for sport, fashion, arts, culture and marketplace trends.
- Must have a high degree of proficiency with digital design platforms.
- Experience in the application and use of technical materials and leather in footwear or a related field.
- High proficiency of Apple systems.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
- Ability to work under deadlines, manage multiple priorities work independently, take initiative, and pay close attention to detail.
REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Art, Industrial, Graphic, Textile, Apparel Design or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of CMF design experience in footwear color and materials or related field.
The pay range for this position is $85,000-$100,000/yr USD.
