Perry Ellis International, owner of C&C California, recently sold its rights and trademark to ACH C&C Inc., a Los Angeles licensing company.

C&C California is known for its SoCal inspired label offering women’s tops, bottoms, leggings, dresses, sweaters, and other separates encompassing a strong Los Angeles vibe. The label originally started out only selling Los Angeles tee’s for women, but eventually expanded by opening other categories of apparel.

ACI Licensing bought C&C California with its recently created new venture entitled ACH C&C Inc. This is the company’s first time buying an apparel trademark, as ACI Licensing is known as an agency for TV programs and brands. The deal of Perry Ellis selling its brand to ACH C&C closed officially on March 20.

Perry Ellis International, a clothing company that includes a portfolio of brands, owned the brand for the past seven years. The company focuses mostly on casual clothing and sportswear for its markets. Other brands that the company owns are Jantzen, Cubavera, and Rafaella.

C&C California, known for its coveted L.A. t-shirts, will maintain its vintage feel and fabrics that will still be true to the brand even under ACI Licensing. ACH C&C has hired a manufacturer that will source the label globally. Depending on the selected retailer, prices range from 34 to 168 dollars.
