Three Dots, the contemporary womenswear brand known for its jersey knit pieces has closed its doors. The company, which launched in 1995 by Sharon Lebon, shut down after nearly 25 years of business.
According to California Apparel News, the California brand ceased operations as early as April 18, and its owners are already selling the company’s manufacturing equipment.
While this may seem like a sudden move on Three Dot’s part — sales representatives were on the road as recently as mid-April promoting the latest collection at the Fashion Market Northern California trade show — it appears that the brand had been struggling for the past few years. Earlier this year, according to sources, Three Dot’s owners were in the process of selling the company to Chinese investors before potential buyers pulled out of the deal.
Sources say that the company shut down while sales representatives were traveling to sell the label’s knit tops and other pieces.
