Converse is taking efforts to make themselves known for their apparel offerings. This Thursday, Converse will launch Converse Essentials. The idea behind the collection is that it is a minimalist wardrobe.

The items that will be offered include a t-shirt, a long-sleeve shirt, a zip hoodie, a crewneck sweatshirt, fleece skinny pants, and a canvas backpack. Converse Essentials for men are pretty much the same offerings. Six core items will be offered in five colors.

Converse is also launching a unisex collaboration called Converse x Fragments with streetwear designer Hiroshi Fujiwara, who often collaborates with Nike.

“For some time, our customer has been asking for more from us,” said John Colonna, global vice president and general manager of apparel for the brand, in a statement to WWD. “Apparel as a business has never been fully leveraged. We see Essentials as a sharp point-of-focus. It’s something we’re going to be consistent about continuing for many years.”

Converse's parent company Nike has declined to release projected sales figures.

For the Essentials line, Converse will be using Supima cotton, 360-gram high loft French terry, four-needle seaming, collar notches and rubberized grommets. Price points for the collection range from 35 dollars to 90 dollars.

Essentials will be available through the Nike store, as well in Converse stores and through select wholesale partners.
