Dillard's net income rises to 97.7 million dollars in second quarter

US department store chain Dillard’s has announced its financial results for the 13-week and 26-week periods ended August 1, 2026. The Little Rock, Arkansas-based retailer generated net income of 97.7 million dollars, or 6.25 dollars per share, for the second quarter supported by IEEPA tariff refund. This compares to net income of 72.8 million dollars, or 4.66 dollars per share, same quarter last year.

For the first 26 weeks of the fiscal year, Dillard’s recorded net income of 348.2 million dollars, or 22.30 dollars per share, compared to 236.7 million dollars, or 15.08 dollars per share, in the previous year.

William T. Dillard, II, chief executive officer of Dillard’s, said: “Our 1% sales increase points to a somewhat resilient consumer. Retail gross margin of 40.9%, boosted by tariff rebates, helped grow cash flow and the bottom line. We ended the quarter with over $1.2 billion in cash and short-term investments after paying off $96 million in debt.”
