eBay has partnered up with Square Capital to help sellers based in the US grow their businesses. Thanks to the collaboration, select US eBay sellers will have facilitated access to loans from Square Capital.

“eBay sellers in the US will be able to apply for as little as 500 dollar or as much as 100,000 dollars to help with whatever their business needs might be – from payroll and inventory to equipment and marketing”, said Scott Cutler, Senior Vice President, Americas, at eBay, in a statement published on the company’s website.

The selected eBay merchants will start receiving email invitations to apply for a loan in the third quarter of 2018. Applicants will only be granted the loans if approved in a financial assessment.

Headquartered in San Francisco, Square Capital focuses on lending money to small businesses which may be unable to access loans from traditional lenders. According to the joint statement, Square Capital has already facilitated 2.8 billion US dollars to more than 180,000 businesses.
