Dallas-based manufacturer Haggar Clothing Co. just announced its strategic move in partnering for a menswear line. The clothing company just entered a licensing agreement with Bernette Textile Company for men’s sweaters set to launch in the fall of 2017.

The licensing deal worked in Bernette’s favor from a business aspect. Because of the company’s experience in apparel previously, pairing with the menswear company was a positive move. “Licensing Haggar sweaters is a natural fit for Bernette,” Jeff Siskind, company president of Bernette Textiles, said in a statement. “Partnering with Hagar, a brand that has led the apparel market through innovation and dependable high quality product, is consistent with our business model,” he said.

Together, the two are expected to launch their initial collection later next year. The collection will drop both online as well as in Haggar stores. Haggar Clothing Co., which has been established since 1926, has emerged from a fine menswear company into a renown apparel line. Due to their sophisticated slacks and innovation in menswear, the company has grown in prestige. Bringing Bernette Textile into the mix only furthers the company’s commitment to producing quality clothing. “Bernette’s mission, vision, and history align with ours, and both companies are committed to delivering the highest quality apparel, innovation, and exceptional value for the consumer,” Michael Stitt, chief executive officer of Haggar, said in a statement.
